This is a 60 gallon reef ready Marineland Cube which is connected to our 1,600 gallon reef system. To make it a challenge to myself to create a beautiful reef and aquascape I only allowed myself to use soft corals and really wanted to focus on showcasing mainly Leather corals. The rock work is Real Reef rock, a man made live rock by Fish Heads, and sells for $7.99 per lb. The tank is lit with a 24 inch 6 bulb T5 High Output fixture with built-in timer made by Aquatic Life.
This is a 45 gallon Marineland (formerly Perfecto) pentagon tank. This system only houses tank raised clownfish so the fish are not exposed to parasites found on wild fishes. The tank is filtered with a Fluval 405 canister filter where the ceramic rings have been replaced with crushed live rock. This system routinely supports 25 to 45 fish and gets a 25% weekly water change. This tank is built into our cash register stand.
This is our 1,400 gallon salt fish only display tank. The tank is made out of 1.5 inch thick glass and measures 14 feet long, 3 feet wide, and 5 feet tall. This is primarily a Caribbean fish display with artificial corals. The flat “robot” looking fish are called Look Downs and are very common in the Caribbean. We had to pump concrete under the building to hold the weight of the tank and use a fork lift to install it. The system is currently lit with four 400W 14K metal halide lamps.
